"I recently took part in Amanda Green’s Tarot: A Transformational Toolkit workshop, and I am still reflecting on just how powerful and illuminating the experience was.

A bit about Amanda

Amanda Green is a transformational coach, facilitator and business consultant with a background in leadership, business development and coaching.

Her work is rooted in spiritual intelligence and emotional awareness, and she guides people to uncover deeper truths about themselves through tools such as archetypes, shadow work and tarot.

Her approach is both grounded and intuitive, bridging the spiritual and the practical in a way that feels accessible and deeply personal.

Tarot: more than I ever expected

For those unfamiliar, tarot is often misunderstood as a tool for fortune telling.

In truth, it is far more than that.

Tarot is a system of symbolic imagery designed to reflect our inner world, help us process our experiences, and navigate life’s many transitions.

At the heart of the tarot are the 22 Major Arcana cards.  The word “arcana” itself meaning “secrets”. Each card representing a key life lesson, journey through life or universal theme, from The Fool’s beginnings to The World’s sense of completion.

Amanda’s workshop focused on these 22 Major Arcana cards, exploring how each one could serve as a mirror, guide and prompt for self-inquiry.

We also touched on how the cards act as archetypes, shared human experiences and energies we can all relate to, regardless of background or belief system.

Reflections from the workshop

As someone new to tarot, I entered the space with curiosity and an open mind.

I have been on this journey, with Amanda for a few months now.

As the day progressed, what unfolded was a deeply personal process of reflection, insight and growth.

One of the exercises that left a lasting impression on me involved identifying our lower mind (fear-based) words and higher mind (empowered) words.

Taking time to examine my language and patterns in this way was enlightening. I noticed two particular lower mind words recurring throughout, words that pointed towards themes I had not fully acknowledged in myself. To see them so clearly on paper brought an immediate sense of clarity.

It was as if something clicked into place.

This simple act of mapping words, guided by the symbolism of the tarot, helped me recognise where I might be holding myself back, and just as importantly, where my strengths lie.

It gave me a new framework through which to process decisions and approach situations.

Not everything has to be analysed through the lens of logic or corporate conditioning.

Sometimes, alternative tools can open up insights we never knew we needed.

From Curiosity to Connection

The process has been enthralling. I found myself constantly drawing parallels between what I was learning and how I show up in the world.

I now see the Major Arcana as more than cards, they are cues, symbols of energy I can recognise within myself. It has placed the mirror firmly back onto me, gently encouraging me to reflect, process and grow.

There was so much synergy throughout, between my personal journey, professional choices, and the themes explored in the cards.

What began as an experiment in open-mindedness has quickly become a key part of my ongoing self-work.

Exploring the unknown

My biggest takeaway? The importance of staying open. Open to new ideas, new processes, and new ways of looking at ourselves.

You do not have to fully understand something to explore it. Sometimes, being curious is enough. You never know where it might lead.

If you are on the cusp of trying something new, especially something unfamiliar, I would wholeheartedly encourage you to lean in. It might not always be comfortable, but it will almost certainly be revealing.

And that’s what this whole experience has been about: a return to self. Not in a fluffy way, but in a grounded, honest way.

Tarot, as Amanda teaches it, is not about escapism. It’s about presence. It holds a mirror up to you and asks:

What do you see? What are you avoiding? What needs your attention?

A heartfelt thank you to Amanda for sharing her knowledge so generously.

I may have walked in with the energy of The Fool, full of wonder and not quite knowing what to expect, but I left with a little more of The Magician, ready to harness new tools, insights and intentions. (See what I did there? hehe!).

What a ride."
